Visit Riverside first and ask to sit in on a Year 5 English lesson. If M. seems happy there, we can have the application in before the January deadline and keep Lakeside as a backup.
Admissions interviews are rarely about perfect English. Schools look for confidence, curiosity and whether a child can follow a conversation. I've sat on the other side of that table, and I prepare children for exactly that.
