Online small-group camp · ages 5–13
Four live online sessions over two weekends, then a one-to-one mock interview with a written report. Children practise with peers their own age, and parents find out what schools are really looking for — before the real interview.
Groups by age: 5–7 · 8–10 · 11–13 · Up to 6 children · Live on Zoom
You'll know whether your child is ready to apply, and exactly what to practise if they aren't yet.
Included with every place
Run the way a school would, by someone who has sat on the admissions side of the table. Your child gets the practice; you get a written report saying what went well, what to work on, and whether they're ready.
Greeting an interviewer, sitting and speaking with confidence, and answering the question every school asks: tell me about yourself. We practise family, hobbies and school, and the habit of finishing an answer instead of trailing off.
Following instructions carefully, describing a picture, and answering "what would you do if…". Children practise thinking out loud rather than freezing, and responding to what the interviewer actually said.
Reading aloud with a few seconds to preview the text, a short written or drawing task by age, and explaining simple maths and reasoning in English. We also practise the polite way to say "I am not sure, but I think…".
A small collaborative task, since some schools watch how children behave in a group: taking turns, listening, sharing the work. Then each child does a full mock interview while the others practise being a good audience.
Within a week of the last session, one-to-one and in full, followed by a written report and a short call with parents.
Everything in one page you can read later or send to your partner: what the camp covers, who it suits, and how the mock interview works.
Children applying to an international school in the next 12 months, whose family wants them to walk in prepared rather than hoping for the best.
Children whose English is fine at home but wobbles in front of a stranger. Interviews reward confidence and listening far more than vocabulary.
Families abroad. The camp runs live online, so children in China, Korea, Hong Kong or anywhere else can join before they move.
Ask about the next intake and I'll send the fee with the dates. Every place includes the 1:1 mock interview and the written report.
Yes, live on Zoom in small groups, so children can join from anywhere. The mock interview is online too.
Groups are capped at six and matched by age. Shy children usually find it easier to speak after hearing peers do it first, and the 1:1 mock at the end is private.
Tell me their level when you enquire. If the camp isn't the right starting point, I'll say so and suggest one-to-one English first.
Ideally two to three months before the school's interview, so there's time to practise what the report flags.
Tell me your child's age and which school you're applying to, and I'll send the dates, the fee and what to expect.
